Title: Waiting for Parker 95's Post by 76doublebass on 01/24/09 at 04:37:08 I really love my Zen 84C,But lately I was trying to fire up some Concert Band Music,Bad Idea.I need to wait for the Parker 95's to do this. Everytime a Timpani or big bass drum would hit the amp would go into clipping. So I asume its just the driver mismatch with the speakers I am using currently. 89Db Effeciency just don't do it. I then put on classical acoustic guitar and all is wonderful now. I should be getting my Parkers early next month and then I shall see. Maybe with my musical tastes being so broad I might need his 25 watter. Well I shall see. Don C. |
Title: Re: Waiting for Parker 95's Post by RobInMD on 01/25/09 at 12:49:01 The Parkers will make a huge difference from a 89db speaker. You may want to look at a 2nd SE84C and use them as monoblocks. I have been using a pair of SE84C Selects for years now with the very effecient HDTs and very rarely do they run out of stream on concert/orchestral works. There are times when I toy with the idea of the power/headroom of a Tori II, but the strapped CSs do so many things right, it is a hard move to make. |
