Question about input bias. The bias switch has 2 settings, 1 using 2.7k resistor only and the other using 1.5k and 2.7 in parallel which I think gives a resistance of .964 ohms if i'm correct. Which resistance gives a sound with more slam and dynamics, 2.7k or the lower resistance .964ohms. In other words does a lower resistor value on the input bias give more slam and dynamics.

Yes, the lower value bias the tube harder developing more slamb, presence and dynamics with a 2 volt source on the grid.  Higher signal voltages will push it over the top.  In that case raising the bias resistor value allows the tube to handle it without stressing the sound.

Hi Steve, thanks for your answer on bias value, I think I will try the lower value resistor to give my amp a bit more clout.
