I was considering building some HWKs to use in a faily large P.A. system used at concerts and festivals and such. I already have the power amps and the drivers. I too would have to scale them for 18" drivers. Any input before I start doing this will be greatly appreciated.

I'm fairly new to the HWK scene, but my impression is that it is
definately a Sub only type of machine. You will not be hearing
much in the way of vocals, never mind hi-hats. So unless the
HWK was augumented with some serious midrange/tweeter stuff,
an alternative type of speaker may be best.

Don't worry I have the Low Mids, Mids and highs well taken care of. These would just be the subs.

The main question I have is with the scaling it to 18 inch as well as the best placement of the 6" Port for P.A. use.
