Title: questions regarding original build-in
Post by phillip on 12/07/06 at 18:44:41

i guess this question is for steve:

which version of the build-in did you begin with? i've seen
plans for two: one whose rear cavity spanned the length of
the horn that maintained a constant width, and one where
the chamber was a roughly 17" cube with two throats on
either side of the driver against the baffle, with the horn
initially expanding horizontally from the center.

has anybody heard both of these? as this seems unlikely, does
anyone know which one was the earlier version? the second
one i've described was detailed in weiller's "high fidelity
simplified" second edition from 1954, while the first has no
date on the plans i have, which are also stamped jensen mfg.

thanks all

i may have just answered part of the question, having found
pete millett's copy of the constant width horn dated 1956
