Title: Switchbox Question
Post by Tony on 07/09/26 at 15:39:49

I am considering a switchbox to use between two amps.

Has anyone compared the Decware switchbox directly against a direct speaker connection in their system? I'm not asking whether it's convenient—I already know that. I'm asking whether anyone has found it sonically indistinguishable from a direct connection.

Thanks.

Tony…I had done an A/B test back when I got my Decware switch box years ago. At the time I remember that I could not find a discernible difference in volume levels or a change in the sound.  Mine is the basic version with the gold connectors.

For me the best feature is the second set output connectors.  One set of interconnects from my DAC goes to my preamp and the other goes to my subwoofer.  I was unable to use the subwoofer speakers connections due to placement of my Err’s with speaker wires running through my walls as well as the sub interconnects.  Hope this helps.

Great question! I've been curious about this too. While the convenience of a switchbox is clear, I'm interested to see if anyone has done a direct comparison regarding sound quality. From what I've read, some users report minimal differences in sound, while others claim they can hear a notable change. It would be helpful to hear from those who have tested it in their systems.
