Title: Decca cashing in?

FYI:

It looks like Decca Records is trying to cash in on the "analog revival."

180 g. vinyl cut at the Emil Berliner Studios, but some strange choices IMO. Why Haitink's Mahler 5 instead of Solti's 1970 recording? And why Solti's Alpine Symphony instead of Mehta/LA?

Regardless, something to consider if you're looking for classy pressings of classical music.

Thanks for the infomation James.  Very interesting.  I like that they are pressed at Pallas.  Historically they have a very good reputation.  When I was seeking out a first pressing for Fleedwood Mac Rumours, the Pallas pressing was highly regarded as the second best modern day option next for a first pressing.  I have a Japanese pressing and the Pallas pressing of that album, and while the  Japanese pressing is better, the Pallas pressing is my everyday listen.

The Alpine Symphony and Sibelius sounds like a good place to start and put on my radar as a future purchase.
