Title: SE341.6 Left Bias Meter Zero
Post by SamP on 02/24/26 at 14:42:45

Can someone please point me to some troubleshooting steps to identify where my problem could be, My Left Bias Meter on 341.6 SE is at Zero. All the tubes have faint light I can see not sure where do I begin my troubleshooting.

Thank you and appreciate any help.

I would start by swapping tubes. Switch the left and right power tubes and see if the right meter is now zero. If so you have a bad power tube and should replace the pair. Also try a new rectifier. Note that if you don't have a complete set of spare tubes you should get one ASAP. You never know when a tube will go bad, and the best way to check is swapping in new tubes.

Could be the meter itself of course. James' first suggestion should demonstrate whether the meter is working or not.

Good point. If you're getting sound in the left channel but the meter reads zero then the meter is bad. There are in theory other problems that would cause the meter to read 0 and no sound, besides a bad tube, but IMO you should contact Steve at that point. I don't think the SE341.6 has internal rectifier fuses, but that might be another possible issue.
