Hello all,

I have a question about choosing between a ZBIT and a ZROCK…

If I run my Sarah 300B directly off of my Holo Audio Spring DAC through my Nagra Streamer running roon, typically… and playing on Pure Audio Project Duet Horns @ 96 db efficiency… and my room is 14’ x 18’ with an 8’ ceiling and is a normal living room (rugs, couches, etc) with no acoustic treatment…

What do you recommend (if anything)?

I have read through the exciting and entertaining development forum postings… and understand Steve voiced the SEWE with the optimum characteristics from the ZROCK 2.

I also understand that he tested the Holo Audio May with a ZBIT, allowing XLR and gain adjustment outputting directly into the amp.

Which solution would yield the most sublime results for me?

Initial impressions is that I could use fuller bass, but in general I want to maximize the Decware magic with my components in this room….

Am very open to your suggestions!

I have both and can't imagine my system without them. But if I had a gun to my head and could only keep one. . . it would be the ZROCK3.

Lon LOL!

You are single handedly responsible for a huge uptick in Decware’s bottom line, me thinks…!

Am I correct, that one advantage to the ZBIT 2 is that it would allow me to also have my phono chain utilize the ZBIT and the ZRock? (My phono, a McIntosh MP100, has both XLR and RCA Output)

Am leaning now to BOTH a ZBit 2 and a ZRock 3…

(Shakes head)

And then I will try my damndest to turn off the new purchases… but I do fall under the YOLO philosophy of endeavors of such joy…

So.. while the 6+ month wait ticks out, I will be in search of 2 XLR cables… one primo for my DAC, and one budget but good enough for my PHONO…. Any suggestions there?

Yes, a ZBIT2 would allow you to feed both balanced outputs into it and then feed the single-ended output into the ZROCK3.

I was going to do that but then discovered a killer deal on a Goldpoint 2 XLR input to one XLR output switcher with a stepped attenuator--about one third the list price, and as I already had an extra XLR cable that was a great boon for me, and works excellently for my two sources (PS Audio DSD DAC Mk2, PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter with balanced output).

As for XLR cables. . . I really haven't found "buget" ones that work for me. I am using VooDoo Cable Stradivarius Amati which i was lucky to get at a discount--they are very expensive--last decade. In another system I am using these, which are quite good, and discounted here:
