Title: SET Simplicity and Musical Engagement
Post by Jeffree Star on 12/22/25 at 04:01:50

Hello everyone,
I’m new to the forum and have been spending time reading older threads about Decware’s approach to sound. What really stands out to me is not just the SE84 circuit itself, but the broader philosophy behind Decware’s SET designs.

From my understanding, Decware has always focused on simplicity, purity of signal, and musical engagement rather than chasing high power numbers. The idea that a well-designed low-watt SET amplifier, when paired with high-efficiency speakers, can deliver a more immediate, emotionally convincing listening experience really resonates with me.

I’m especially interested in how SET amps like the SE84 interact with high-efficiency speakers—micro-dynamics, tone density, and that “alive” feeling at low listening levels. It feels like this philosophy prioritizes the relationship between amplifier and speaker rather than treating them as separate components.

I’m still learning, but I really appreciate how this community values careful listening, minimalism, and long-term musical satisfaction over specs alone. Looking forward to learning more from those with hands-on experience with Decware amps and efficient speaker systems.

Thanks for having me here. agario

Welcome Jeffree Star,

As a new forum member, I think you've done a great job of distilling down what Decware's philosophy and ethos are. It resonates with a lot of us on this forum as well.

Synergy is important, so once you find the right Decware amp for your tastes and the higher efficiency speaker that compliments it, you'll be amazed. I have an SE84UFO25 and high efficiency speakers and they really fit the bill for me. I have more in the audio chain as well, but those anchors really set the stage for some great realistic listening. The other components enhance the sound in ways I really like. The UFO25 won't give you a chest pounding effect (although you will certainly feel the bass) the beauty it presents at low and high levels (assuming a good source) is unbelievable.

Like you, I'm here to learn and hope to keep doing so for a long time to come. There are a lot of seasoned and experienced members here to learn from.

Happy learning and listening.
