Title: Which output taps are you using with your Tori V?

Fellow Tori V owners - I could really use your input on output tap selection. I'm running Pure Audio Project Quintet speakers (8 ohm nominal) and currently have them on the 3.5 ohm taps. I made this choice based on my previous experience with a Willsenton R8, where the 4 ohm taps clearly outperformed the 8 ohm taps with these same speakers.

Here's what I'm wrestling with: I never really gave the 8 ohm taps a fair shake on the Tori V - just assumed the lower impedance tap would be better again. Now I'm second-guessing myself.

What I'd love to know from you:

Which taps are you currently using with your speakers?
What's your speaker's nominal impedance vs. the tap you chose?
Did you actually A/B test different taps, or go with conventional wisdom?
What sonic differences did you hear between taps?

The "match impedances" rule seems straightforward, but we all know real-world speaker impedances vary wildly with frequency. I'm wondering if I'm missing out on better sound by not experimenting more.

Thanks for sharing your experiences - looking forward to hearing what's worked for you!

I guess my question is why aren’t you experimenting yourself? FWIW impedance matching maximizes power transfer from source to load, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it maximizes audio performance.
