Title: So grateful!!!! Post by roggae on 01/21/25 at 20:39:53 It's -13 degrees here in madison wisconsin right now and i am indoors listing to my zen torii mk IV. i manage a record store so i listen to music nearly all day almost everyday. i also listen to sound critically a lot. today because it's so cold i just wanted to sit on the couch and read my book and listen to some jazz. i just have to say thanks to Steve and Co for creating these devices. the fact that i'm just listening and listening and listening is a testament to how this gear just gets out of the way. i even did some tube rolling and it seems like i just can't go wrong with the amplifier. anyway i just want to say "thanks" for a middle aged guy who just spent the whole day playing with his big boy toy! I hope you all are safe and warm and enjoying your gear as much as i am. |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by Lon on 01/21/25 at 20:44:27 Yes, it's about 20 degrees warmer here, but still cold. . . and I'm enjoying some listening to my amazing amplifier as well. One of the great things about these amps is. . . they keep getting better and better both the longer you play them in a session and the more months you put on them. When I was living single once I had my amp on for three straight days. . . and it never sounded better than the second half of that third day! We are all here grateful to Steve and his family and employees (and the blend!) who have created and supported such amazing machines! Stay warm and tuned in. Right now Santana "Welcome" Columbia LP. . . again. . . enjoyed it so much yesterday. The SEWE300B is showing me so clearly the improvements I made to my vinyl playback. |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by CAJames on 01/21/25 at 20:56:01 I'm grateful it is in the 60s here on the Central California Coast. But I am also grateful every day for Steve, Decware, the rest of my system and all the great sounding music I have in my life. |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by the other Paul on 01/21/25 at 22:17:03 I'ts 7 degrees here in southern Ontario, Canada, it's been a few years since we had a day this cold, I don't mind 25 or 30, but this is cold. I'm just listening to my black ice audio fx10H and tubecube7 back and forth. Glad for the extra heat the tubes give on a cold day. On page 10 still waiting for the Rachael. |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by will on 01/22/25 at 02:22:10 Nice image of you loving the day of reading and music roggae! Below 0 here in Northern New Mexico last night and not much above expected tonight. All good though with a really efficient stove insert and plenty of wood to keep the propane demons from burning up too many audio funds! My system has been on more than off the last few weeks, working on things and listening a lot. For me too, especially Steve and Bob, were gateways into a vast world of home audio becoming a lot more than listening to a stereo for the love of music, and I am forever grateful. Now, when things are right, I merge with the music in relative awe... the system/room disappearing as the "critical listening" of "tuning mind" fades into the love of being in the music. |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by Dominick on 01/22/25 at 03:14:33 Ditto Roggae!! Right now it’s like 15 here in Northern NJ, and tomorrow it’s in the single digits. I switch off between my Torii MKIV 25th, and a pair of Zen SE84C+ monoblocks with the 25th Anniversay mods. I truly love both amps, and it’s nice to go back and forth between the two setups. This morning was a CSP2+ with headphones, and it’s a great way to hear the separation of instruments between the two channels. I am thankful every day of my setup, and for the Decware crew who have produced such amazing pieces of audio gear for us to enjoy. |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by CAJames on 01/22/25 at 03:54:03 P.S. At the risk of getting all mushy, I'm also grateful for this forum, all the friends I've made here and the discoveries and discussions we've shared. ![]() |

Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by JBzen on 01/22/25 at 13:06:28 -12 here and sunny [smiley=peanuts21.gif] Will, you hit the nail right on the head in your last sentence here with how this hobby applies to me. I could not have put it in better words. A concise eloquent statement for sure. This forum is one of my daily reads. It has helped me progress further than ever thought possible. It fosters a deeper understanding of quantum mechanics and how it applies when critically listening. It helped transform my listening space into the forth dimension. It for the most part does not go off with tangents like most. It led me to meeting face to face with some interesting characters with equal passion/understanding of the hobby. Stay warm out there [smiley=icqlite20.png] |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by Geno on 01/22/25 at 13:16:06 I look at this forum as my ‘home’ page. Most of the time, when I pick up my phone in the morning, it is the first thing I open. I’m always anxious to see any new posts or developments. Steve's latest phono gain stage development is a good example. Following this one closely. Best to all, Geno |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by Donnie on 01/22/25 at 20:16:17 I agree with this site being my "Home Page". I must check out the forums every couple of hours all of my waking day. Truthfully, I bet that I have read 95% of the entries in here for almost the last 13 years. |
Title: Re: So grateful!!!! Post by Kamran on 01/23/25 at 01:46:02 And here I thought I was the only one OCD about checking the forum multiple times a day. Looks like I’m in great company! As others have said, I’m also very grateful to be part of this community of knowledge, discovery and learning, as well as a community of camaraderie and friendship. |
