Title: Snake River Audio Post by kulafu on 09/08/24 at 02:05:27 I went to the Pacific Audio Fest and met with Johny, the owner of SRA. We talked for over a 1/2 hour. Absolutely great person to talk to. Passionate about what he does. I am going to bite the bullet and purchase what he says is the biggest bang for the buck: Amp Power cables. I am considering his other products so anybody here have any experience with his speaker and XLR cables? Bob |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by Kamran on 09/08/24 at 04:19:24 Bob, I met him last year at CAF—great guy! Every cable connected to my Sarah is Signature Series SRA in addition to his USB Boomslang. AMP series PC is what I started with—I don’t think you can go wrong. Very tempted to pull the trigger again on his Labor Day sale. Let’s see if my self discipline lasts another 24 hrs. Are you coming to Decfest again this year? |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by kulafu on 09/08/24 at 19:19:04 Kamran, Thanks for that! I plan to but have not made any reservations (flight, car or hotel). Definitely getting the signature power amp cable. Also thinking the LAN cable taking advantage of the Labor Day Sale. He also has a PAF 24 sale going on as well that lasts until this Tuesday. Bob |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by PDXDrew on 09/09/24 at 19:52:07 I recently purchased a custom terminated I2S cable, which I needed due to my DAC having a non-standard pinout. All I can say is the cable is beautiful and my system never sounded better. Jonny was very easy to work with. |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by S of T on 12/27/24 at 16:21:56 Ordered this morning the Takshaka IC. I've had a couple of Jonny's SRA cables. This is what I was next looking for from him. Hope everyone is having a great Holiday! I have a cold, with a plugged ear, so I'm playing my mid-fi Rotel/Emotiva Rig. I shall heal and return to my Listening room/Decware soon! With SRA Takshaka. |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by S of T on 01/09/25 at 14:41:35 Jonny is curing my Takshaka IC (200 hours)! Will ship the 16th. Sweet. |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by S of T on 01/24/25 at 20:08:21 Very pleased (Takshaka IC)! Knocked it out of the Park Jonny. Living breathing the music. You are in the space/sound stage with inflection pitch of a Fender Rhodes to Steel Pans, too. Beautifully crafted and the swag and packaging are excellent as well. Now resides in my Signature. That is not easy to do. |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by S of T on 02/03/25 at 19:19:37 Many more personal hours on my Takshaka IC's/1 meter pair (besides the 200 they came in with). I think multiple gauges are key too, that Jonny employed. My 14 month speaker cable couple of gauge's DIY quest proved fruitful and is knocking it out of the Park with Jonny's Takshaka's. Speaker Cables: I'm 12awg to each speaker post with 9awg aggregate to each speaker with solid core and stranded (according to my trusty Wirebarn combination calculator): 24awg 6N Silver Solid Core x 2 ConneX (Parts Connexion) PTFE 24awg UP-OCC Copper Solid Core x 3 Neotech (Sonic Craft) 19awg Kimber Wire TCSS Hyper-Pure Copper, VariStrand, *PTFE Dielectric x 3 (Parts Connexion). I was pleased/satisfied to accomplish my goal with my DIY speaker cables. However, not IC's. Very happy to purchase these. |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by S of T on 02/06/25 at 16:01:14 I called Van Alstine yesterday to get lead times. Mary answered. I have not been on Audio Circle or AudioGon Forums for some time. She informed me Mr. Van Alstine passed away January 29th. I gave my condolences. I have now read those Forums. Kind, well merited tributes. I ordered the Transcendence 10 RB. With my Kimber KS1030 and Takshaka, I look forward to having the 10 in and out. Takshaka continues to enthrall. |
Title: Re: Snake River Audio Post by S of T on 03/04/25 at 22:48:38 The T10 has no business being this good at the price in my ZMA Rig. Me, being a ZDSDac direct to ZMA curmudgeon (via SRAudio Takshaka or Kimber KS1030 direct ear brain), I will always be. However, it is the little Engine that can. Period. |
