Last weekend was my 1st concert recordings of cellist Hayoung Choi.
She won the Queen Elisabeth Comp 2 years ago & her career is rising very fast. We recorded an astounding Haydn Cello Concerto No.1 in C along with the Schubert Arpeggione Sonata and some Chopin.

She's very young but her musicality is unbelievable. The cello sound is likely the best I've ever heard or recorded... the textures of the cello are so gorgeous.

This is her winning performance of this Haydn C in the QE Comp.

Hi Dr. Ed.

I missed the video that you posted of her back in June. I just watched it, along with parts of each of the three you posted today.

All I can say, is WOW!!! Grace and style meets technical prowess, and what surely must be fantastic recordings. Congratulations on the opportunity to record these two. Well done!

Hi Geno,

Thanks for having a look!
You're right on, she has great technique but it's all in service to the music.
I met her in Jan & I knew after just 5-6 notes she's got it!

So happy to have her in our musical family.
We have a solo concert with her in February, 2 Bach Suites & the Kodaly Cello Sonata.

But I have Alena Baeva, Hayoung Choi, Vadym Kholodenko & Yun Yang Lee in October to play the Beethoven Triple Concerto at our place!! Can't wait.
