Imperial SPEAKERS WITH PT15

Just made the switch from F15s.  Thiey are better suited and less shouty.  Let me know it you have any questions.  Thanks

Seeing that roll up garage door gives me hope for a dedicated serious room someday.

Nice I was hoping you would see them.  I really enjoyed building from your plans.  Imperials, the sub, DNA’s and HDT’s (not shown)

I had F15’s in the imperials but on certain frequencies usually a saxophone it shouted.  The PT15s are better.

I am not sure the cost/benefit is there to justify the PT15s.  They sure sound nice but the F15s were not terrible except for saxophone.

I do wear hearing aids and I think that they are probably compound the  issue

That makes sense.  The F15 is a fairly high Qts driver which is why it works well in open baffles.  In a box, like the one in the Imperial feeding the horn flare, it will become pinched at some frequency.  The Fast 15 is a lower Qts driver making it work better in an enclosure.  I can imagine it sounding pretty darn good : )

That's fantastic! I am so jealous that you have the space for those beasts! Congrats, I am glad you have smoothed out your saxophone issues! It is such a smooth instrument with the right guy using it. Dexter Gordon, Cannonball Adderly, the great Paul Desmond.... ohhhh yeaaah!
