ZMA

Hello all,

I pulled my ZMA out of my audio rack for the first time since I bought it (2021). It had been sitting on some Pangea isolators which had attached themselves to the bottom of the amp. I had to peel them off and discovered it had eaten through the paint down to the MDF base. Even though it was the bottom of the amp and not visible, I could not live with this failure. While prepping for repainting, I also discovered the base is only 1/4 inch thick MDF. In my mind, this is a disappointment. I added an additional 1/2 inch MDF with screw in rubber feet on the bottom and decided to open the bottom of the box so it could breathe. I also added a layer of Dynamat insulation/sound deadened to the interior walls of the base. In my opinion, the vent holes looks like factory but honestly only had a small impact on how cooler the amp runs. Pics:
