Hum with new 6N1P-EV
09/27/22 at 16:32:30

Hi guys, I purchased a couple of Voskhod 6N1P-EV tubes to use as a backup in my new UFO2 and both make the amp hum a lot. The one that came with the amp works fine obviously. I’m surprised as both tubes come from a reputable online seller in Canada and were professionally tested prior to shipping. Any idea other than I was sold defective tubes? Thank you much.

How long have you had them? Sometimes new tubes will hum out of the box but after running them for a few to several hours they quiet down.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve just received them last week and tried them for just a few minutes. I didn’t want to risk damaging the UFO2.

They shouldn't harm the amp. . . as CA mentions I would run them in a while and see if the hum disipates.
