If I tell you guys that my 5Yr old Chevy Traverse has a factory Premium Bose sound system, nine mid/uppers and a small subwoofer, in it that sounds pretty damm good, you'll all laugh.
But, using built-in controls, I can make it sound the best it can and it is better and more powerful than many add on systems I have had installed in other cars.
It's a car stereo, for heaven's sake. We must manage our own trade offs!
But, being older, I still have a CD player in my car.
My wife's newer Chrysler 300 has no player of any sort. However, her car grabs her cell phone right away and so she has her subscription service bluetoothed and up and running instantly, hands free on the phone, but the screen has to be given commands. Very good for her style of background (not really)listening.
I have to dink around some to sync my cell's functions, but I do like the auto mute/handsfree function my car offers.
Basically, I dump all the mids, pull the bass back a touch, boost the treble (the extent of my built in controls) crank it up some and it is not half bad at all. My Chevy sound is still better than her Premium Chrysler Beats Audio system by far.
So, for now, factory all the way. Probably getting another Traverse, soon. We'll see how that goes.
I love the thread, Donnie!
