The ZROCK2 is essential in my systems and I wouldn't do without it.

I'm not ever going to discourage anyone from buying audio gear, but FWIW in my system (Woo Audio pre -> UFO amps -> Omega speakers) I have no desire to add a ZROCK (or anything else to tweak the sound), so it is possible.
