From a sound quality standpoint this is a pretty tasty album.  Only 5db of limiting on Qobuz. Wonderful fleshy timbres throughout.

Something recent from Yello! - You can never go wrong with Yello from a system evaluation perspective.  Every album is like a system test disk to evaluate image, depth, width, height, density, hit, power, swell, tease, pull-back, smash, texture, tone, timbre, you know -- all those things you love about music!  These guys are the master of the Moog synth.

Am listening to the first one. Thanks for sharing it Steve. The “layers” on it are something else. I still don’t understand how I can have music 5-10 feet outside of my speakers. But I love it.

Kenny Burrell "Ashpalt Canyon Suite" Verve/Universal Japan SHM-CD

This new reissue from Japan sounds amazing on the system today. These ambitious recordings of Burrell for Verve took me a while to fully appreciate but I love them now.  Such a great guitar sound and playing, and interesting arrangements.

Two new arrivals that I am really enjoying the first disc of (both are 2 cd sets)

Roy Hargrove and Mulgrew Miller "In Harmony"

I'm enjoying this more than I anticipated. The sound is quite good and the playing captured my attention and would not let go.

Roy Brooks "Understanding"

Woody! Carlos! Harold! Cecil! The mastering is quite good, making this one of the best Left Bank Society recordings I've heard.

Bill Evans "Behind the Dikes" 2 cd set, disc 1

I always enjoy this trio with Marty Morell. Do I really need another Bill Evans Trio release? Guess so . . . .

A jaw dropping experience when first hearing Martin Denny's work decade's ago on a stereo tube console LP player. Very interesting back stories of the groups incarnation of bird sounds and instrument acquisitions.

Stefon Harris & Blackout "Sonic Creed"

My system has always liked this one. The better the system gets the more this fills the room with warm liquid sound. It's a good balance of a. modern recording with a traditional jazz recording, and communicates differing moods via the engineering and performances.
