New DIY Betsy & Buck

After two prototype versions using a Betsy, I've finished up the Betsy & Buck based upon Randy in Caintuck's original version using a 10" Eminence Alpha 10A. These are made from 6/4 cherry, so just shy of 1-1/2" thick. I'm running them with a 10mH choke on the 10" driver.

Visible in the cabinet is a Unique Audio tube preamp. Not visible inside the cabinet are a Rega Apollo cdp and a PSE Studio IV amp.

The system sounds good as it sits with the speakers next to the cabinet. But when I want to really enjoy the sound, I pull them in front of the cabinet by about 14", and out to the sides slightly with a little toe in. When I do this I get a huge cohesive soundstage.

Chris
