looking for Decware SE84G guitar amp
02/06/21 at 19:30:12

Hi all, I don't know how many were made, so this is probably a long shot.

If you or someone you know has one I would like to trade

I have an older Decware SE34I.2 with the type writer finish
Has copper V-caps, and is set up with two volume controls

Thanks,   TISH

I wish I could shrink these pictures so they fit better!
I have been trying to shrink them for about an hour now and I give up!!
Took me about 5hrs just to get the pics up, I did not know anything about copy and paste, but I know a little now.

I find it much easier to put my pictures on a free host site (imgur currently), resize them, and then paste here.

Is the input switch really a mute? Smiley

Hi, I did put my pics on IMGBB before putting them here.
And the input switch is a volume control, has one for each channel.
Steve did this when you just wanted an amp.

Thanks, TISH

Took about 20 seconds saving to my computer, putting it on Imgur, resizing, and posting here.
Not familiar with imgbb, but I assume you can resize.

Hi all,
I should point out that the SE84G was around $500 when new.
And the SE34I.2 was around $1500 when new.
So this is a pretty good deal for both to do a trade.

I bought the amp used and paid $750. for it, and had Steve install some copper V-caps and I believe the Hazen mod, which cost a few hundred.

I was using it as the tweeter amp in a bi-amp system with two mono blocked SE84CS's, and now have more sensitive speakers and want to have my zens put back to stereo so I can bi-amp with those. As I think I should use the same type of amps for bi-amping.

But I'm willing to trade for the guitar amp as I know its a rare bird.

Started taking guitar lessons a year ago and would like to stick with Steve's offerings.
I do have a tube amp for guitar, but would like something with less power and a smaller speaker (68 yr old amp with 4 -6v6's and 15 inch driver) for a small practice room.

If you don't want to trade I'm willing to do cash.

Thanks for looking at my add.  TISH

Are you using the SE84s in an active or passive bi-amp system?
If it is passive you will not gain anything using 2 amps in stereo over 1 stereo amp.

Hi Linn,
I have a pre-amp that has two sets of out put tubes, a 101d that I use for the tweeters it has a sweet triode sound, and then there is a 6h30 tube that I use for the woofers that has more punch if you will.
The pre has volume knobs that allow final balancing between the two out puts.
So I plan on vertically bi-amping with the 101d in one channel powereing the tweets and the 6h30 driving the other channel for woofs.
So in this instance I will gain something from using 2 apms in stereo.
There are more ways than one to skin a cat. LOL

The pre is a Supratek dual cabernet, In case you want to take a look.
Not very many pre's have this configuration.

Thanks, and ya it is passive bi-amp,  TISH
