Someone convince me to buy a pair of Omega’s
12/31/20 at 02:37:39

Hi everyone,
I have a friend who bought a pair of S3HO’s a few months back as he was looking for another option besides his headphones. After he had them broken in, he invited me over for a listening session and man was I am impressed. I have a ZMA driving Legacy Signature SE speakers. Now don’t get me wrong,I love the sound. But the Omega’s seem to be in another class.

My current room is a tough to tame, square 11x11ish. With the room treatments I have it pretty well sorted. My listening preferences vary from blues to classic rock to female vocals. I’m not that picky.

I am interested in the Super 8 XRS or even something with the 10” drivers I recently saw on the website. I like my bass and wonder if these speakers can reproduce anything close to my Legacy’s. I know the detail will be there for the mid/high. Also, I would like to future proof if I should move to a bigger room in the future.

So in ending, please convince me that I should reach out Louis and discuss my needs and perhaps start the process.

Thanks for your help.
Dave

Hi Lin.

Luckily Louis already had a set of cabinets built so that will save some time. I gave him 2 finishes that I preferred and told him to surprise me and not tell me. I will see it when they arrive. I am sure I won’t be disappointed with whichever it turns out to be.

I am overwhelmed with anticipation as I have heard a set of the S3HO’s at a friends house and was blown away by them.

In closing, Louis said a couple of weeks so I am not sure exactly how long. I am going to assume maybe 4 weeks. Certainly shorter than if the cabinets had to be built.

Thanks
Dave

DAKO,

you made a good decision on the speakers. the SHO's probably would have been overkill in your room. i have a small room like yours, 12x10. i have the omega junior XRS with 6.5" alnico single driver [a bit of a custom order with louis]. with 3 watts, its been really, really good.

I have been considering the SUPER 8's as well.

I think they would work really well with my upcoming Torii MKV.  As much as I like my current Emotiva T1s, I believe they would be outclassed by the Omega's.

The Zu Audio Soul Supreme are very appealing, but that extra 2K is hard for me to justify/afford. From everything I have read Omega's are one heck of a value.

Piezoman,
The Omegas are fantastic as advertised. I have no thoughts of ever looking for another speaker. This is my first foray into Single driver speakers and I couldn’t be happier. I added an Omega sub a few months later and that just completed the picture. Bliss is now mine and the speaker merry go round is over.

DAKO,

That's great news!

Our systems are fundamentally fairly close [though I'm still on the wait list for the Torii MK 5]. So I'm looking forward to hearing something pretty similar to what you are experiencing now. The Taboo MK 4-25th didn't cut the mustard overall for speaker duty.

Anyway, a big congratulations to you for finding your niche. The synergy of Decware + Omega has a storied background, and you're living it.

Enjoy!!

Brad
