carver 60" ribbons and hawthorn augies (Read 3357 times)

Tripwr1964 Seasoned Member Posts: 435	carver 60" ribbons and hawthorn augies 03/19/20 at 15:49:45 some may be interested in this project.... parted out my carver als speakers but saved the ribbons. mounted them 3/4" x 14" mdf. low end are 2x 15" hawthorn augies. xo and eq is mini dsp. i know randy will appreciate!!! lol they sound pretty great.

hey john!

just using a minidsp. crossing them at 200hz. i have the augies currently running 20-400hz.

oh i have a dayton audio usb mic and REW for the measurements and EQ'ing.

I like my maggie 1.6's better because they are softer in the mid range.

but no the carvers sound pretty fantastic, once you get all dialed in. it took me 3 days off and on to get them tweaked the way i like. but well worth it.

i think i'll paint them! lol

What prompted you to rdissasemble the Carver Amazing Loud Speakers? Just needed something to play with or were you looking to try to fix somethin you found them lacking?
