How many pairs of speakers do you need?

I just counted 4 pairs of speakers in my listening room.
Open baffles, horns, ported box, just had a pair of transmission lines. They all seem pretty good, some better at different things than others, but overall thy seem more than passable.
So how many do I need? I'm leaning towards more!
My wife is telling me that we are buying a new house, one that has a a 24'X16' listening room, it will take a whole bunch of speakers to fill that up.

Give her the listening room and build yourself a listening shed / man cave / shop - whatever you want to call it.  16' x 24' is a good size.  It will be a win win.

My current count is 6 pairs of speakers plus a subwoofer with 2 ported boxes.  3 of the speaker pairs are in the attached garage (storage).
