DECWARE DNA Pluvia Eleven Build
09/05/19 at 17:36:07

I spent the last month or so building the DNA speakers.  I took a long look at how I wanted them to look and their construction.  Settled on ¾” MDF for the box and ½” MDF for the baffles. I used ¼” felt bought on Amazon and used the MA speaker foam for the foam blocks.  Speaker wire and terminals from Madison.  I used Rustoleum Gloss White oil-based enamel with Penetrol additive to allow it to flow using a foam roller, about 8 coats.  Used the MarkAudio Pluvia Eleven (A) Gen 1 Driver as it has a little more bass than the paper driver.  I mounted the speaker on 5-degree wedges using the ¼” felt between the wedge and speaker to minimize vibration.  Added the walnut tops finished with Tung Oil as a decorative treatment. Started the break-in period last night and am very satisfied with the sound and bass. These are amazing speakers.  Listened to Michael Brecker – Nearness of You and Steps Ahead – Modern Times and heard detail I have not heard via headphones or other speakers I have.  Highly recommended speaker.
