Difficult time choosing between UFO2 and UFO25

Has anyone done a side by side comparison?  I just can't decide which to get!

Don't get me wrong the UFO2 is a nice amplifier, but I'd recommend the UFO25 all the way without a doubt.

Thank you for the response.  Can you elaborate on why you like the 25 so much more?

I had the SE84UFO for about two years before getting SE84UFO3 Monoblocks with 25th anniversary mods. I hear more of everything in comparison. Extension, detail, soundstage is much wider and deeper. Bass is next level. Overall it very much is an overall upgrade in sound bringing you closer to the recording or venue.

There is a lot information on these forums regarding both amps. Steve has provided a lot of information and I believe JOMAN even started with the SE84UFO2 and upgraded to the SE84UFO25.

Here are some threads to get you started:

That’s correct, I did start with an SE84UFO2 w/backlit meters.  Great amp, really liked it, you can see some of my posts.

IMO you really can’t compare the SE84UFO2 to the SE84UFO25 because the SE84UFO2-25 is at a different level.  It’s like comparing GREAT to EXTRAORDINARY.  And now that I’ve got the Philips GZ34 Metal Base in it, I’m totally wrecked Cool.

If the budget allows go for the UFO25.

Dang, this makes it more difficult because I was hoping you would tell me to go with the UFO2!  The 25 is more than twice the price.  I will give it a bit more thought, but I guess that I have to go with the 25, otherwise I will always be wondering what I am missing.  UGH!

Crowes, you will be happy with the SE84UFO2 as long as you never hear the UFO25! I, too, would recommend going for the 25 whether you can afford it or not!!!

We will make absolutely sure that you have no regrets!  Even at over twice the price, we understand that it will come under much harder scrutiny but even at that we know it will still make you feel like you didn't pay enough for what you actually got.
