If unwanted treble is coming off the woofer, I have been wondering if it can be blocked with a grill to avoid use of an induction coil. Perhaps grill cloth if the frequencies to be blocked are quite high, perhaps a wooden grill if they are lower.  

Anybody here know anything about the effectiveness of frequency blocking with grills?
