02/17/18 at 20:55:34

trying this out with my betsys

fostex FT17H super tweeter
fostex r80b attenuator
1mf cap

anyone tried anything like this or have comments/advise before i cut holes?

i think it adds a nice sparkly air to the top... going to give it a couple days of good listening before i cut however!  lol

Well ........

As long as you have the attenuators, you should be good to go.

I built several different Betsy baffles using various tweeters and the success often depended on the recording and which amplifier was being used. Sometimes, there was too much top end .....

The attenuators should make it a winner .....

Happy listening,
Randy

I did not find this posting until after you installed them. I was going to ask if they ought to be centered or set off to the side.
How did you choose their location?

brian

i wanted them back a bit from the betsy drivers, and i usually toe them in... so if i put them off center and on the inside (when i toe them in) the tweeters would be back a few inches from the drivers.  not sure if this is right thought (but somehow i convinced myself it was).  they sound pretty awesome, must have gotten something right!  ive been listening to them every night for over a week (and i have other systems to choose from).

cheers
