My NOS Mullard GZ32 stolen...
10/27/17 at 05:09:21

A stupidly sad day for me...  Maybe not a big deal financially, but after reading the forums on tube rolling, I ordered via eBay a NOS Mullard GZ32 from Canada.  I believe that is the SME tone arms distributor...

Anyway, I just arrived from a four day trip from Chicago and Minneapolis and I find this open box in our hallway at the entrance of my building along with some other emptied packages.  The tube is missing and just the padding material is in the box.  It is a small apartment building with only 8 units and everyone knows each other.

I was so looking forward to trying the GZ32 on my SE84UFO along with the 6n23p input tube and the cryo’d TAD EL84 which I have burnt in for some time.

Well, will have to wait for another 15 days or so in this case for another tube!  It sucks!!!

That's a bummer! Did you file a police report?

Actually, did not, Donovan.  In Brooklyn, I understand this is considered too soft a crime by the NYPD, and they don’t even show up for quite a few hours, if ever!  Let alone me explaining them what the content of the box is!  :)

I wonder though how the thief would treat the GZ32.  Imagine him looking at it and saying “this is a good capture, I always prefered these over 5U4GB’s for tighter bass and shimmerring trebles!”

Hah, yeah I see your point. It would be like that scene from the Big Lebowski when the cop informs The Dude there is little hope for his cars tape deck. His partner, with a look of disgust, adds "...or your Credence!"  :)
