230V to 110V conversion...
06/02/17 at 16:49:35

Hi,

I have a TABOO mkIII wired for use in Europe (230V),  Now that I am back in the US, I would like to re-wire it for 110V.  Sending it to Steve is a hassle (packing, shipping, etc.) so I would love to do it myself.

Anybody who can tell me what to do in steps?

Best,

Alper

Sure, you have several possibilities depending on which power transformer you have if its an Edcor (matte black) or a Hammomd (black gloss). If its an Edcor find the two wires soldered together (which series the (2)120 volt windings together) separate these wires, the black/white stripe wire and the brown wire will be your neutral, the solid white and the solid black wire will be the line wire and go to the switch.

If its a Hammond this can be a little trickier, since Hammond has several different taps and depending what voltage its wired for the color code on them can be different, in any event the neutral wires will be white and brown. As before find the two wires that are soldered together, separate them and the two line wires going to the switch will either be black and blue solid wires or possibly black/red stripe and blue /yellow stripe. If in doubt you can find the schematics for the different wiring configurations at the Hammond web site, look for the 373fx transformer data.

Here's the wiring diagram if it is that transformer.
