A tube phono stage is not necessarily straight forward or easy, but definitely worth it in terms of sound quality and tweakability once you get it dialed in.

Nearly 3 years with same tube compliment in ZP3. Decided it was time to do a lil' rolling. Early 60's RCA triple mica, long ribbed blk plates 5751WA in 1st slot. Tung sol 5751 early 60's - long gray plts 2nd slot. Hmmmm enjoying this more than the Telefunken 12AX7 short-ribbed gray plate and 60's Sylvania 12AX7 long gray plates. Sylvania 0A3 original tube, a Mullard IEC 12AU7 and Mullard GZ34 round it all out.
Also enjoying a Philips -miniwatt PCC189/7Dj8 input tube in the Zen SE84-CKC.
Keep rolling...you just never know when it might lead to improvements, or just a new sonic flavor!
