Very nice, thanks for sharing. Looks about the same dimensions as my listening room. I tried some ceiling panels and the soundstage lowered so I removed them. I love the storage method with the dedicated Lp & platform in one. ...and of course the geetar.  8-)

Thx Syd, room is 11' x 16' x 8' ceiling. Ceiling panels did help. Had first listen last night which showed more detail/better seperation of instruments. Weird thing is since adding more diffusion, and absorbers, I find that I only need to turn Zen up to 8 o'clock. Used to listen at around 9 to 10. Wondering if room treatments have something to do with that?

Yes thats a bigger room than mine Ace. I dont have the sophistication of treatment you have but with my more basic panels I feel I`ve reached base camp. No more ear ringing at modest levels.
They (yours) look like diffusers which employ the mathematical formula for wave bands.

Hey Syd,  I can't explain the math behind the diffusers, perhaps Lonely Raven or Palamino can?
I just know what I hear, and if I like it or not. Works for me. The process continues!

I wouldn't worry about the math, but here's my take.  You don't need the volume because the treatments are helping to extract detail otherwise obscured.  Volume is frequently a substitute for detail; you don't get it, and your mind can't fill in the gaps, so you turn it up.  That's what happened to me anyway!

By the way, like your Lores!  They were my first pair of hi-fi speakers.  I kinda wish I still had them.  I've gone OB but a good pair of bass reflex cabinets always have their place.

This right here is huge, and I see it all the time, especially in home theater.

I can't understand the dialog (turn it up) I still can't understand the dialog (turns it up more), damnit now it's just loud noise.

People don't realize the *room* is the problem, and turning it up just exacerbates the problem...especially when you have a fancy 7.1 system with all those speakers blaring into the same room from different directions and massive comb filtering all over.  It's also why some people get the false idea that a room full of absorbers is a good thing - because it solves the slap-echo issue, but doesn't address other issues, and can cause different ones! LOL

In our two channel systems, if we can take away that slap echo, get our in-room frequency response even, suddenly all this micro-detail pops out. It was there all along, just probably EQ'd out with the sound bouncing off the walls and into itself.

Go one step further, if we can lower our ambient noise level, we can extract even more using less. Like when you're at the library and the slightest sound you make seems way loud, LOL.

Hey LR,  makes perfect sense. Makes me wish I could have late night listening sessions. Music room is right above master bedroom. So, when the wife goes to bed the music stops. I am sure late night sound would be awesome. I usually don't begin sessions till after 6:30 when things begin to quite down!

Sweet setup. Love the record collection.

I've been thinking about adding a zstage between the zp3 and se84ufo. Do you like what the zstage does?

On the digital side I'm using a moon 230had and it adds substantial body and weight that I'm not getting with my analog side.

What are your thoughts?

Hey Pnow,  I do no use the Zstage with the ZP3 (It isn't needed). I am using it between CD player and also with MP3 Zune player with very good results.
I might try it again with the ZP3 but at the moment I don't feel the ZP# needs any help at all.

Finally addressed the window on my left and a bit behind me (47" sq with a small air conditioner). I had some foam in there but not really well covered. My son-in-law came over Saturday and we built a customer L shaped frame. Covered it with a nice thin fabric and stuffed it with roxul 2" rock wool. Played some music while window was bare, Ouch!!!
After the installation....ahhh much better. It's helped to consistently increase sound stage on left side...something that had been bugging me for months now. Glad to finally get it resolved.

Hey FRMan....It's been nearly 3 years in the making. Adding upgrades (ZP3 - 2M black cart - Mapleshade - spkr wires - diffusion/absorbers). All have added to an increasing upgrade in soundstage width, height, depth, detail and I'd have to say the Tektons have been up to the task. All of this is dependent on the quality of the recording, but I find that more and more of the LP's and CD's I listen to sound amazing due to all of the above tweaks (room treatments have had the biggest impact). That doesn't mean I am not interested in trying out some Omega speakers etc. You never know what synergy you may reap. Hope this helps you.

Ace- Anyone who has a Steve Wilson album front and center has got to be a  musical adventurer. Room looks great (sure it sounds awesome) and the gear is audio porn at it's best. SW and PT are albums in rotation on our system often. Happy listening and keep us informed, Chris.

Thanks Chris, PT and SW stuff is tame compared to some of my other musical tastes hehe. But, it's all good. Since taking these pics I've rearranged panels on the front wall and added ceiling panels above the listening position. Sound on vinyl and CD's has improved. Now I am saving to upgrade IC's (using the budget Decware DSG ICs'). I think it is safe to say that there will be a nice improvement on sound which I cannot wait to experience. Going to the LA Audio show early June to check out cables and everything I can get to in the time allowed. Rock on!

Thanks Delta.  Yup 5+ years and I'm still adding & tweeking. Bought the Lonely Raven PC from a forum member a few months back and the Caintuck Betsy's, both of which I am enjoying very much. (nice to have when I'm too lazy to spin CD or vinyl).
