Holiday activity besides Audio

While I'm as much into audio as everyone else (well, there are some truly dedicated audiophiles that would shame me!), the one thing that extinguishes the vacuum tubes in my household is SyFy Channel's New Years Twilight Zone marathon.  It's a Who's Who of stars before they became household names, and the story lines and plots are iconic!  It's hard  to accept the fact so much TV and cable today is comprised of reality shows

I have been watching the whole series on Netflix with my 10 year old son. He loves it, my 7 year old hates black and white, so I guess I'll have to try again in a few years for him.  What a great show!

When I watch TV the tubes don't have to go out. . . I run optical out of the DVR into my DAC and get 24 bit sound that is amazing via the Torii and the HR-1s.

Happy New Year everyone. I've been sick since Tuesday, and my wife was out of town three days and has come back sick. Not a lot of joy here, but love and concern.

I have a 2.1 channel A/V system with Decware amplification and McIntosh Preamp and DAC and Omega Loudspeakers.  Similar to Lon's setup I also have an optical out from my DVR to optical in on my DAC.

My marathon of watching was:

1. The Man In The High Castle (Amazon Prime which is based on the novel by Philip K. Dick) Season 2.
2. Vikings (History Channel) Season 4.
3. Stranger Things (Netflix) Season 1.

I have too many hobbies - target shooting, woodworking, guitar player, audio, motorcycling.

Winter time I'm usually woodworking and handloading custom bullets for shooting, and playing guitar to myself late at night.

But due to no budget for much of anything, and a hand injury, I've just been doing some house projects and woodworking (related to audio LOL)

I've also caught up on some TV.

Plowing through Vikings season 3 and 4
Humans Season 1
Magicians Season 1
Mr Robot Season 1 and maybe Season 2

I also hope to catch up on Sherlock season...whatever just came out.

It seems like a lot, but I don't sleep much, only 3-5 hours a night. So I can work all day, come home and do projects, then watch 2-3 episodes of something. Plus I was off work for 10 days - use my PTO or loose it.

Oh yeah, since I drive a lot for work, I also do audiobooks. I used to stay up late reading instead of watching TV, but audiobooks let me plow through a book every week. I've been catching up on 15 years of Science Fiction and some Fantasy.
