I'm looking for some advice.... I am new to the Decware family and ordered myself a Rachael and a pair of DNA horns a few weeks ago. I received the speakers maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago and they still are sat in their boxes (I opened 1 box to examine the workmanship and was impressed) in the corner of my room while I wait for the amp to be built and shipped, the amp is currently on the Decware bench.

While I'm waiting for the amp I'm sat here thinking of how I need to protect this stuff once the order is delivered in full and as such I am considering getting some dust covers made to protect them while they are not in use. Does anyone have recommendations where I can get these commercially made? I'm also considering finding a local seamstress or tailor (or other skilled sewing machine operator) to knock something up for me.

I guess I'm just looking for insight from you guys if you have done something similar.

I've made my own in the past, it's not too difficult once you know the dimensions.

I'd ask around for someone who sews - I'd have the material picked out already and just give them the dimensions and any thoughts on how you want them to look. Maybe look online for some photos of some gear covers you like so you can show them.

Just keep in mind, if you go to someone who normally only does dresses and ask them to sew up some nice heavy leather or vinyl covers...it probably isn't going to happen. There are different grades and types of machines for different materials. So if you are going for something heavy, you'll have to find a shop that has the correct (normally industrial) gear to handle heavy weight materials.

Yes you do need to find someone in your area who deals with heavy vinyl or leather sewing to make sure you get the job done right. My wife made our covers but she has access to commercial machines where she works, a supplier for the auto industry in Detroit area. Rick

The only problem is that the pillow cases don't go to the floor. Maybe King size would? Cheap, cheap, cheap!

I've had them make covers for a couple of guitar amps that had off-sizes. They aren't cheap but they do a good job.

Mine are sounding great and still opening up as I get more hours on them.

I considered buying something cheap on Craigslist or eBay but eventually decided to wait it out.... kinda wish I had bought something now though.
