MT 2 impedance

Hi

What would be the result if the speaker impedance was 4ohm? Currently I have 8 oh, but I'm looking at new speakers. The one I'm considering is a Omega 1.5 with two 6" drivers, but from forum I see they are 4 ohm.

I have been told you can mix and match speakers  8ohm speakers to 4ohm taps and vice versa  i have done it no major sound difference.  probably more in the use of pwer

I believe the first 2 versions of the MT have only one set of speaker outputs.

Not sure about other models, but at least mine is with one set only. But not a problem then? Could it be changed if needed and wanted to?

FWIW My amp (not a Decware) is switchable between triode and pentode and has one set of 8 ohm speaker outputs. It goes from 1.8w (8 ohms) to 1.6w at 4 ohms in triode and goes from 6w (8 ohms) to 3.5w at 4 ohms in pentode.

I asked Louis about the possibility of 16 ohm drivers for his dual driver speakers and this was his answer: "... the current set up is bit higher than 4 ohm and very easy to drive, But I'm going to look into 16 ohm coils in Alnico's."

Save your small change and buy a Torii Jr, you can thank me later. Wink

Hmm. Well I'm thinking about it actually. I like my MT2 and was aiming for Zen Select though, and with the more sensitive speakers I don't need the extra watt, so I'm not sure what to do
