Dear Steve,

Fist I want to congratulate you on creating an amazing company & website, dedicated to designing & producing wonderful tubed gear, to play music that feeds our souls! Bravo!

I feel good tape has the potential to bring us closest to the real musical event. Tape has many attributes not found in any other format... mainly it has sound "density", there is a real "mass" & "weight" in an absolute sense that vinyl can only hint at.... IMHO

It's the low level detail that allows us to hear utter transparency.... which brings us to the musical event. Transparency is the Holy Grail...

Another is dynamics... most recordings are equalized, the low levels are boosted & the loud reduced, to get the signals on the grooves... but tape can truly whisper & roar with everything in between in a linear progression. It can be quite startling to hear this for the 1st time on a good system....(we're not used to hearing this in recorded sound...) It can approach the true dynamics in a chamber music concert...

My tapes grew out of a love for live classical chamber music & a love for all things audio... making these recordings was the next logical step... My focus was always to bring this immortal music in a captivating performance to your living room....

I want to give thanks to my good friends, tube guru, Tony Ma & Studer tech, Roger Ginsley for coming on this journey with me!

We'll expect a full report!

ALSO

If anyone has put this in the shopping cart and thought the shipping was too high, you were probably right.  I checked   this order when it came in and it said shipping was like $40....  The options should have been: UPS Ground $18 or USPS Media Mail $5 for AL customers!  We're correcting the past orders, and the cart has been fixed.

Thanks,

Steve

I did see the shipping charge and thought is was a wee bit high. But I then thought the cost of having to acquire Buddhist Monks to walk around the shipping department lighting incense to drive away evil magnetic spirits before the reel was placed in a silk sleeve, hand woven by skilled Japanese ladies. And then having the package escorted to the UPS chariot by a select group of Swiss Guards on loan from the Pope.....well it didn't seem to high at that point Wink
