Question about ground scheme
04/16/15 at 01:52:42

I'm trying to solve a ground loop hum in my system. I was looking at the pic of the grounding in Steve's white paper, and comparing it to mine, they are different.

My Z sends a wire from the ground lug on the power inlet to the TT ground lug. The powder coat has been ground off under the lug so it makes contact with the chassis. The coating has also been ground off
under the right channel input jack (my in/out jacks are at the front).
The ground bus picks up the ground from that point for the rest of the amp.

The pic in Steve's white paper has a wire running from the ground of the
power inlet, passing by and connecting to the TT ground lug, and continuing on the front of the amp. The pic is pretty fuzzy so I can't tell
what it connects to at the front (I'm assuming to the ground buss).

The pic of the PCB shows it to be a ZP3 3.0. Mine also shows ZP3 3.0,
but is slightly different that the one in the pic.

I guess my question is, is mine a later or earlier model than the one in the pic? It has a white aluminum plate on a black figured base. I purchased mine from Audiogon, so I don't know when it was made.
There is nothing written on the underside of the plate.

If someone here who has a later model white base Z could check to see what their grounding scheme is, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
