ECC80 to replace a 12au7 in a ZP3?

Can you use a ECC80 to replace a 12au7 in a ZP3?

I believe an ECC80 is considered a better tube design with lower distortion.

I know that you can use it in a MT.

Thanks,

Peter

Steve D. states there is no harm in trying.

I will post the results in a few days

I have gone back to the 12au7, but a ecc80 is a very interesting tube.

I does produce more output, but as reported on the internet it has the following sound:

More forward in your face, bright?

Lower distortion than a 12au7?

A better designed tube than a 12au7 (a 12ax7 is also a better designed  than a 12au7?)
