Rectifier tube swap.
04/02/14 at 17:40:37

Hello all,
I just swapped my 274B with a vintage NOS RCA 5U4GB rectifier. The RCA has five pins vs. the 274b has four. Turned the amp on and started on some Son Volt. Sounded more forward with a little more presence than the 274b offered. My question is this: will the RCA tube do any harm to the amp because it a five pin tube, or am I just being paranoid? Any and all advice is welcomed.

Thanx in advance.
