Feet for MG944?

Do you use your MG944's on the floor or do you set them on some type of feet or base?

I liked mine better with spikes. I think these are the ones I got that fit the threads. http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/tiptoes/feet/feet-yung-ysc-black-chrome-tip... but this was a few years ago...I would check with Zygi if you want to get some. He will have a recommendation for current speakers.

Thanks. Does it come with spikes or holes drilled to accept spikes? From the picture I thought it just sat on the floor.

So I am guessing you don't have the 944's now???

If you look at the Madisound link, the part on the right is the part a DIY person would use driven into a hole drilled in the speaker base. This part accepts the threads of the spikes. My 944s came with a thread part already installed in the base. So I just had to screw in the spikes when I go them.

If you are ordering speakers, I imagine you could order them with Zygi's favored spikes. They made the speakers more defined and balanced across the range in my room. They are cheap enough too that getting them to compare would not hurt much.

That is unless you have other speaker feet you like. I ended up liking Herbiesaudiolab small gliders better than spikes on my HR1's, but they cost a lot more than spikes. Lon, and I believe orangecrush really liked these http://www.ingress-engineering.ca/products-and-services.php

I keep meaning to order some to try knowing they would work under components too. Would likely be worth the experiment, but I keep too busy lately and forget.

Thanks. No, I do not have the 944's, yet. They were ordered in May. I have a set of Herbie's threaded stud gliders on my Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Baby Grand speakers. The spikes that came on it are very large and I have a ceramic tile floor which made it hard to move them around.

Nice, you may well like the threaded gliders on the 944's then. I would email or PM Zygi and be sure the 944s are set up for spikes/gliders....I am guessing so though. Do the Viennas have metric threads?

Yes, they are M10 x 25mm. I had some HDT's which had some threaded inserts on the bottom but they were very small (not sure what size as I never used any spikes on them).

Guys,

The MG's have 1/4"-20 inserts...I'd be more than happy to install any kind of inserts desired.

The HDT's would have also had 1/4"-20 inserts  FYI.

Extremely well in fact, thanks for asking...I actually have feeling in my chest for the first time today. Not a big thing but one step closer to normal.
