My new speakers and system
04/22/13 at 17:18:40

I think I am done chasing for better sound because I have it. I want to thank Steve and his crew for making great amps that don't cost an arm and leg to buy and run. Also for speaker designs that don't follow the norm and can be made by a person that loves to DIY stuff. I also want to thank Bob. He is a master craftsman that boggles the mind in design and beauty. I am loving my system right now. Still not fully done because don't have time to finish the subs, but hopefuly soon.

These speakers sound great. I am letting them play for hours at night to break them in as I do other stuff. I catch myself walking by sitting down liking what I hear and then relaizing I have been sitting there for a long while. Hard to get stuff done.  8-)

What is the veneer on the speakers? It looks custom. Also the CSP in the middle does it have controls for each channel on the front? How do these amps drive those HR1's?

Thanks guys, loving this setup right now.
Yes the finish is custom. Its a waterfall bubinga. I seen it on other speakers Zygi did and fell in love with the color and grain. The pictures really don't do them justice.
The amps are SE84CS. I run them in a mono configuration, so they put out about 6 watts max. These guys have no problem running these speakers, but my listening room is smaller.
The pre is a CSP2 that was updated from a CSP but no phono jack. I also had Steve update it with two output jacks. I modified it slightly and put stepped mono volume controls for the balance controls. The originals were up on top by the front tube. I had noise and adjustemnt problems with the originals controls so I updated them. The new ones are big enought that I had to put them on the front but all the original wiring still fit. I like it this way and easy to access. The RCA jacks on top now just cover the holes. They are not hooked up to anything.
The rest of the system is an Otari reel to reel, Pro-Ject turntable w/ speed box, Sony DVD/CD player, and a Jolida FM tuner all hooded up through a RSB6 Rotary 6 position switch box.
The second set of outputs feeds the bass amp setup for the two WO32s I built last year. So I am running true stereo subs on these. They blend in perfectly with the HR-ones. I did turn down the xover point to about 60hz with these speakers.

Nice setup DK! I loved hearing the HR-1's and the CSP2+/Taboo MK III combo when I visited Decware this spring. If I get a better room setup I may spring for them from the DM945's.

Check out the link in my signature line for my visit impressions.
