'Junkyard’ SE84C-S

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and I would like to share my efforts in building a SE84C-S amp from scratch. In my junk box I had a pair of SE outputs that desperately needed an amplifier.
So, I started searching the internet and stumbled upon the schematics of de ZEN SE84C-S. At first I thought about purchasing the Zkit, but later I changed my mind and decided to build it in point to point wiring resulting in this:

Here is my first attempt: a half-an-hour-sloppy-one-channel-breadboard-version connected to my big power supply:

I was amazed by its wonderful sound!
Here is the schematic of my ‘junkyard’ SE84:

And this is how it looks from the inside:

If there is someone who is interested in this amp, just give me a PM and I’ll sent you the schematics and drawings of the lay-out. Your comments and critics are also welcome.

Thank you,

Roland

It sounds great! I don’t want to be without it anymore. I use this little amp every day now.

Roland, you have skills!
Do you have a Thompson gun?

No Donnie,

I don’t have a Thompson gun. For what reason do I need that? Oh, I get it: my half-an-hour-sloppy-one-channel-breadboard-version-ZEN SE84C-S-amp. It didn’t come out of a machine gun, though.
But I do like your motto: Why does it hurt when I pee? Good old Frankie Zappa!

Donnie,

I have never heard of Roland the headless Thomson gunner before, but I understand he is still fighting his war. I am another Roland fighting - with head, without gun - another war.

Thanks Orangecrush and Fireblade for your compliments.
Maybe you think you have to have certain skills to accomplish a thing like this, but this is not the case. Anyone who can handle a soldering iron and knows how to drill, can do this. Most of the work is in preparation and planning. Ones you have a plan, there is nothing to it.
So, anyone who thinks there are too many hurdles to take, I’ve got news for you: I already did the planning for you. Send me a PM and I will send all my drawings in PDF format to get you started.
