240V transformer
05/22/11 at 06:09:57

When I purchased my ZBox, the worldwide transformer option wasn't available.

The original transformer has mechanical and electrical hum issues (a known problem).  I've had to take it out of my system as I'm using a high gain pre amp, which amplifies the hum to annoying levels.

If I was to purchase and wire up a replacement which allowed a 240V input, what would be an appropriate transformer that offered good performance for a decent price.  Maybe a suggestion from Farnell, as that is locally accessible.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon,

The 240v version is available at Decware. Just send Sarah a mail. I blew mine and have got a local guy to redo it to perform at 240v. It does work, but the new one is only about $40.....so it may be a good idea to get one.

Hi Shreekant,

Thanks for the advice.  If shipping isn't a killer, that should be a good option.
