I have just used a Conar tube tester and the results are GOOD, 60, reading for each and every one of my 5 used rectifier tubes.
Is this a high enough reading for this type of tube?

I really want to be sure I am not using any tube that is past it's prime.

If this is an acceptable reading then I'll proceed with the listening and make my choicefor the best sounding.

You mean 5AR4?  As long as the tube tests good you can use it. A good rectifier will last indefinitely.

Yes the 5AR4GB, Sylvania.

This has taken a really good amplifier to really great amplifier levels.

I've fooled around replacing tubes in pre amps and power tubes and never got this kind of across the board improvement.

My last amp.
