Wondering if anyone ever swapped out the tweeter in any of the radials for another ribbon or other tweeter and if this is possible?

Never tried the Raal Fountec. I have tried the BG Planers but you would need two for each radial in a custom housing to make it work.....The Hi Vi had the best imaging of all we tried so we stuck with it. It was like the perfect match......

Part of what makes the hivi tweeter work is the butt crack shape it sits in.

If you were to use the raal, and add a similar waveguide it may work better.

You might also need to change the crossover, from what I've read the raal might not be happy with just first order.

A pair of raal would also double the cost of these speakers.
