S.O. Imperial Question
09/23/09 at 07:53:22

My friend decided he wants to build a Imperial S.O. We will be building it at my house this weekend. He has two Dayton DC380-8 15" Classics that he would like to use but we noticed that the S.O. only has one woofer in the design specs. Would it be OK to use two of these subs positioned like they are on a standard Imperial (side by side) or would he be better off using one sub mounted in the center? I'm not sure if having two subs side by side behind that baffle would affect the whole purpose of that baffle. His other option is to build a second Imperial S.O. and just use one woofer per cabinet. I'm sure this would yield better results but would obviously cost more (time and money).

You don't want to put the two woofers behind the baffle on the SO version,  if you really wanted to use the two woofers, building two would be a way better approach, seconded by building the std Imperial using the two woofers side by side...
