October 11, 1983, both discs from Grateful Dead "In and Out of the Garden: Madison Square Garden ’81, ’82, ’83" box set.

This is a show I will probably not revisit often. The show just seems a little ragged and the sound is not great. I did like "Drums" and "Space" more than on other shows, and I usually don't like those!

Followed by

"The Complete Recordings of T-Bone Walker 1940-1954" Mosaic Records disc 1. I'm revisiting this set from one of the pioneering electric guitarists. I particularly his playing and singing. I have looked and looked and can't locate the box and booklet. Maybe they're misfiled in my storage unit somewhere. Sigh. I sure would love to re-read the booklet and check the mastering info.

I've been leaning into lots of classical guitar over the past day or so.
This was a thrift store find months back. Even if I had never heard the name, I would have bought it because he posed with a classical guitar. The fact that his is electrified only put me off a bit.
Got home, looked it up and found this is a semi-current release from 2017.
I could do without the vocals, but the rest is really nice.
Not typical jazzy or traditional gut string in any way.

Had to move my right speaker to access some big items in the storage area. Reset the speaker carefully and wala! Solid very defined bass.

(There is a great guitar amp in my room, which helps the illusion.)

Just got this recently. One of the old "cusses" from the old days for me.
My kin near Nashville used to have a Thanksgiving weekend for Lost Souls as it became known.
He had plenty of room to park tour buses for those far away from family that week. You never knew who might show up.
My dad usually took a vacation from his shop at that time of year and we drove to (near) Nashville to visit our family.

I remember the year Elvis died, all these bluegrass players sitting around playing Elvis music, almost like a competition. What can you dig out of the Elvis woodwork and make it 'grass?
I invented a term for those get togethers that year which was well accepted by those getting the joke.
While they all shared the Spirit of Metal, which I was more into at the time, they were playing "Heavy Wood" music.
