Yes I am really enjoying his work.   My wife came down stairs and even inquired about who I was playing. I’ve already gone through about five albums and each has been a real treat.

I actually just ordered this import.  It’s on back order, but at least I have something to look forward to. This will actually be my first Japanese import, So I am looking forward to it.

Lon’s recommendation of Barney willing has led me down a listening frenzy. I’m currently enjoying the album “Nuages” streaming on Qobuz in CD quality. Very good album and track #7 “Minor Swing” is a favorite of mine and my daughters.

It's interesting to see covers of streaming material so different from the original covers!

Right now
Walter Davis Jr.'s 4th Cycle "Keeper of my Soul" Black Jazz/Real Gone Music cd.

They really have hit the nail on the head with mastering in this series. These are reputed to all be needle-drops. . .and they don't sound like that at all.

As one of my mono block amplifiers is at the Decware, I'm listening to my living room system which is not quite up to the quality of my main system in the loft upstairs, and as a result I find I am listening to some new rock arrivals more than jazz lately. Rock sounds better with the Taboo.

Right now listening to the new remaster of the Beatles "Let it Be" which is a fun listen. I also have listened to the new Grateful Dead box set, "Listen to the River: St. Louis 1971, 1972 and 1973"and am up to the 1972 shows. Great stuff!

Later today a new transport is arriving destined for the main system. At least I'll get a chance to get it warmed up and seasoned a bit before the mono block returns home.

Been all over the map the past few days in listening, listening upstairs on headphones and downstairs via speaker, playing the Dead and David Crosby (man the Plangent Process really does something subtle yet vital to these tapes) and these which may be more appropriate for this thread:

Stanley Turrentine “Rough ’n Tumble” new Blue Note Japan cd released this week.

Stanley Turrentine “The Spoiler” new Blue Note Japan cd released this week.

Miles Davis “Porgy and Bess” Mobile Fidelity SACD

Lisa Solokov “Presence” (what a singer—her daughter is also an amazing singer)

Errol Garner “1944 vol. 2”

Sixty one years ago I sat about ten feet away from him at a concert in Frankfort Germany.  Long black hair flying as he played.

Blue Mitchel was on trumpet.

Cool! I saw Blue Mitchell with John Mayall in Chicago on a show that was broadcast on national TV. Was a fun night--a band I adored at the time also played, the Ohio Players. Very small crowd, intimate show.

Well, amazon surprised me by dropping this off about 7 pm yesterday. I couldn't do more than bring it into the house then but I am listening to it now, pretty loud.

John Coltrane "A Love Supreme Live in Seattle" Impulse cd.
