Nice breezy feel to the music.

EABS "Discipline of Sun Ra" cd

Well, it's mastered hotter than I'd like a cd to be. That said it's a very interesting listen, an updated Sun Ra sound, recorded with a smoothness one could wish some of the Sun Ra recordings were.

I don't usually get into what a friend of mine calls "Ra-souleum" material, but I'll be returning to this one. A good recording to test tube rectifiers with!

Decided to listen to all of this set and am now on disc 2. Lots of vocals on this disc, and that's fine. I'm one of those who dig Chet's singing, and I like his earliest vocals the best. Sound on this set is very good. I remember I used to not enjoy the sound as much as some later remastered versions, but the way my system is now this mastering is great.

Probably not the most popular thing to say but Mervine reminds me most of Wynton Marsalis.

Of course, there's the GRP All Stars and Gordon Goodwin, but this is also pretty darn fantastic, if you haven't heard it check it out.
