Has anyone tried an RCA 5U4G? or 5V4G?

What are some options besides the ones listed in the manual.

I use a GZ32 in mine - re-visited the 5Y3GT as supplied with the Taboo recently, but only for long enough to confirm my preference for the GZ32 - it seems to give more depth to the sound-stage.

FWITW, my current configuration has a battery powered Monica DAC feeding the Taboo directlyvia DSRII interconnects. The Taboo is currently EL84/12AU7 and is plently loud enough (for me) through my Lowthers.

Got a pair of SV83s to try out sometime, a Scott-Nixon new 'UFO' Tube DAC due to arrive any day, and a CSP2 on order. Ain't life a bitch.

I think you'll find that a 5v4g is actualy closer to being a gz31 "in foreign speak" The GZ32 was it's successor. No matter what they say, none of the 5v4g or 5aq4 match the specifications of the gz32 precisely. A GZ32 is a GZ32
